Who are we?
My name is Anna
Riutta-Salo and I live in Eurajoki, which is a little
village between Rauma
and Pori in Western Finland, together with my husband
Arto (known better as Aku) and
our dear children Niklas (born 03/06) and Inka (born
07/07).
Our "hairy" familymembers are australian
terrier Latte and basset hound
Fanni. Veteran-aged Fanni is retired, but still good
company for energetic Latte.
We have also two self-assured cats, who spend their life
inside of our house.

Nipsu took me into
aussieworld, Fanni introduce to bassetlife
I got to know
aussies in the begin of 1990's, when an aussie called
Ransu came to guard
my parent's house. I got my first very own aussie Nipsu
year 1995 - after that there hasn't
been the return back to life without aussies :) When
Nipsu came to us, I wasn't even
dreaming of breeding aussies, Nipsu was my pet with whom
I did just everything;
dog shows, obedience, agility and so on. Nipsu lived all
her life together with me and she
managed her job as a friend just excellent. When I moved
to my own, Nipsu moved with me
and she was very adaptable, she was my only dog for a
while until Tessi - her grandchild -
was born. It was so so big sorrow when Nipsu moved to
the rainbow bridge in November
2005, we still miss her so much. But it has been very
nice to noticed, that there is some
flashs of Nipsu in my own breeding as well, even though
Nipsu leaves quite far in the
pedigree of my litters.
In November 2010 we had to let our dear Tessi go to the
rainbow bridge as well, she was
10,5 years and she had a cancer. This same line still
countinues in my breeding and at our
home: our lovely Latte is Tessi's child and Nipsu's
grand-grand-child.
In Basset Hound's miraculous world I was banging ten
years later than aussies, when
basset hound Fanni moved to us. I have bred two Basset
Hound -litters, but there is
no more to come. I have not enough time to effort to two
breeds as much as I would
like, so I decied to give up basset breeding. So, there
will be only australian terrier litters
in our house in the future, aussie is "my own breed" and
much more familiar to me.
Breeding in very
small scale
Kennel Somehow
breeds australian terriers in very
small scale - and
I really mean it.
Litters are born only when our
resources in a family with small children
allows it.
I mate my bitches for a reason, not only for
fun. I have left couple of bitches
out of breeding, because I don't like to mate them, even
though it would be possible what
comes to the agreements and so on. I have never accept
the principle that all possible
bitches which looks at least a little bit like aussie,
has to be mated. What for? Every
breeder should have some kind of aim, every breeder
should need to know what kind of type
they want.
Our dogs are just our pets, not puppymachines or show
objects. Most imporant to us are
dogs themselves; their happiness and healthy, well-being
before anything else. This hobby is
particularly happy hobby to us, not any kind of business
or fight in the ring with taste of
blood in the mouth. I have couple of co-owned dogs and I
have learn that the co-own homes
really need to choose with very very good care, because
co-operation with co-owners has to
be fluent! I'm very happy that this hobby has given me
many good friends who make this
hobby even more pleasant.
Aims
My goal is to
breed healthy, breed-typical aussies
with a great character - and
which are as close as possible to the breeding standard.
My goal is also to find them such homes
that they can live their life with balance and great
care.
What comes to the details and the dogs of my dreams, my
ideal aussie has a good balance and
proportions (not too low and too long, there is own
breed group to Dachshunds!), good head
(both inside and outside) with bred-typical character (brisk,
happy but not too lively, nowadays
there is so many over-lively aussies in the ring, which
are also too hard for another dogs - and
aussie should not be like that!).
My own aussie Remu (Multi CH Truozzy's Rock Me) is very
close to my ideal aussie. From my own
breeding I want to introduce you especially our Latte (CH
Somehow Take-Away). That girl is something
I really love - inside and outside.
Hobbies
At this moment I
don't have time for any other hobby than dogs, because
of my very
young children. We visit quite often in dog shows, not
only in Finland but also abroad,
especially the Baltic countries are quite familiar to
us. We try to visit also in unofficial
dog shows, Match Shows, but unfortunately I don't have
time to Match Show practises
so often anymore.
Making and updating the homesites of my own and also
couple of my friends is also
some kind of hobby to me. I try to update my own sites
as often as possible, because
I just hate the sites that is not updating and layout is
the same for year to year.
I'm member in many different associations and together
with my husband we are
supporting childrens welfare around the world with many
different directions. Children
and animals - who are innocent for everything bad and
unfair - are very close to our hearts.
This is me and my dear Tessi -aussie.
